It's no more expensive than any other Paint To Sample. This particular color is not popular with the present 997 crowd. Some think there is too much pink in it. Have you seen it in person?

I just purchased a Carrara White C4S and there was a Cream White Carrera next to it and it looked like a dirty blah white. I didn't like it at all and neither did most of the salesmen at the dealership. They've been having trouble selling the Cream White models. By contrast the Carrara White is much more striking and has a presence to it. AND it is a NO COSToption as opposed to $3K + for the Cream White.

Cream white is misnamed....should be cream pink. I tried to duplicate my 356 color of Ivory and ended up ordering sand white which is identical.

pink is a color that should be reserved for birds only - and sure, the down-under double entendre could apply.

Another vote in favor of Carrera White and against Cream White. I liked the thought of the Cream color, especially with the Cocoa interior, but in person it just didn't work. Based on how they're sitting at the local dealership, I think it'll be a real challenge on the back end for resale if you buy instead of lease.

Showroom pics of a targa 4S .
Carrara white certainly work well for me. If you want something a bit more exclusive, looks pretty nice. Except maybe the price.

Definitely don't get it even if you like the color. The experts have spoken!

Is that cream white in the above pics? It looks pretty good. Why in the world would they refer to this as a "targa" as opposed to a "carrera" when, in fact the only difference is a glass roof? This is idiotic. Years ago MB offered a "panoramic" roof on their SL500 but still called the car an SL500.

There is no answer to that question except that, in the past, Porsche has gone from making something a "standard no extra charge" color to a special extra cost color and vice versa. Just depends on what colors they decide to make in quantity for that particular year. Since most people do not special order colors it takes an extra step to get a rarer color and thus the premium.
