Tell ya...cream white isn't bad looking at all in those pics...AND THANKS FOR THE PICS!!...initially I thought not aggressive enough looking..a bit "girly"...sorta makes me think about those pearl color Escalades... though the black accents and wheels heat it up abit.

The added cost has nothing to do with material costs or additional 'quality.' It all has to do with disturbing the production flow of bodies through the paint area. It also compensates Porsche for the added expense of qualifying non-standard paints with all their subvendors. For example, when I ordered my 3AS color, Porsche had to go test it against various materials to see if it would work--blend together--and not appear like a two-tone. All the suppliers to Porsche send their pieces to Porsche pre-painted. Zuffenhausen just bolts them on. To get all those subvendors under an effective process control is not cheap.

All that for a color that so few like?...no market research by the ultimate factory?

The US market is not the only venue in which Porsche sells its vehicles.

Well said...I was wondering which colors and vehicle configurations are popular in Germany, to start...It's my contention that they should be used/driven rather than stored away for a sunny day. My Cayenne is a DD, going away for a Carrera...My 27K mi/yr will not decrease...may in fact increase.

I saw a Cream White with Nat Brown yesterday at a local rally - it looked really nice - great combo; the Nat Brown was perfect with it and really stood out - very rich looking car. I would have never thought "pinkish".

Looks good to me. I would certainly not automatically reject that color and might seriously consider it for my next car. Certainly looks better than SY although, granted, that's not much of a compliment.

it was a choice for me, but I got the other premium color, atlas gray. I was really looking for the malachite green, but none found in a c2s cab or c4s cab with my specs. I really do love the cream with those black wheels!

Having been watching the Porsche market for 4 decades, I can tell you that many times a factory color simply falls flat on its face. It is unpopular for many reasons, many unknown. Usually such colors hang around for 2-3 years and then they are scrapped, in favor of something else. Because of this, it's quite easy to date-stamp such a car from across a parking lot. I've had a couple of Porsches with such color, e.g., Chocolate Brown and Bamboo Beige.

Carrera white is a creamy color and its a PORSCHE color like Guards red and Artic shoulder.
Check out Carrera white with the color you are looking at. There is no upcharge for it.

I think you really mean Carrara White. Prior to CARRARA white was Glacier White (996s) and Grand Prix White (true 911 days). There was also Chiffon White in the 80s.

Youre right But like I said before I have over 170 college credits in engineering(BSEE and a minor in math) and THREE of those were in English. So if its not an acronym I may not be able to spell it.
