Having a problem with my CDC-4 loading the CD magazine. It was in there, I pressed eject and it came out. Now whenever I put the magazine back, it goes in smoothly and clicks in place but then immediately the CDC-4 clicks and whirs and ejects the magazine again. Almost as if the eject button is being held (but it isn't). And yes, I have checked that I am inserting it with the correct orientation.

Any bright ideas of things to look at before I take it in to the dealer to look at ?

Is it possible that one of the discs (probably the one on the bottom) is upside-down? With the arrow on the top of the magazine, the disks should be loaded with the writing on the top (or, in other words, the side to be read on the bottom.)

It's easy screw up loading the magazine and if the disc were quickly read and then rejected by the player, it might explain what you are experiencing.

Thanks for the idea but no that's not it - intentionally tried discs both ways in case it was something like this. But it ejects the magazine before it would even have a chance to load a disc.

try loading it with no discs in.

Thanks - another thing I tried ... arrgghh. Looks like its a trip to the dealer.

I am having the same issue with a CDC-4 magazine in a 2007 Cayman S. The magazine goes into the unit fine, but will not lock either loaded with CDs or empty. I am keeping it more or less in place with the sliding unit door. the car is long out of warranty. I know your post is somewhat dated,but how did this issue get resolved? Date today is 12 AUG. 2016
