Default What's the best discount I can expect today?

Hi all. First time posting

In today's financial climate, what would be the most I could expect for a discount (percentage-wise) from the MSRP of a new (under 200 miles) C2S.

Assuming the MSRP is $106K and asking $96K. With the snow coming along soon in the Northern US, I'm sure dealers would want to sell their stock now rather than storing them for 5 months.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Rennlist.

2009 or 2010? If it is a 2009, you should push for another $6k to $8k which is "trunk money" that Porsche is giving to the dealers to move the remaining 2009 cars.

There is a thread about "trunk money" that you could search for and read.

Thanks for the quick and informative response!

It's a 2009 and that's the perfect answer. I will search for trunk money in the threads and make my offer accordingly.

I want to get it to Montreal before the snow comes. It`ll be the hardest winter I`ll ever spend

Thanks again. I look forward to reading and contributing to the forums in the future.

Purchased my C4S about 6 weeks ago so maybe a little different now.

Search inventories for cars at dealers. Find what interests you, go to edmunds.com to get dealer invoice (dealer still gets hold-back) and then figure at less all the trunk money [last I remember it is currently at $8K on C2(s)] on a cash deal (you may not get all of the $8K). Some undesirable options or situations could yield an even better deal.

May be some issue with US dealers selling to export to Canada though, but you may know that already.

As stated by gota911 search on previous threads, lots of good info.

I'm going to offer $7500 less than their sale price and see what happens. It should go through as it's a cash deal with no financing...

I'll let you know what happens.

You know that dealers would rather a lease or finance deal. There is back end money to be made.
Not so with a cash deal.....

So what do you think would be an interesting deal for a dealer?
