Winter Mats

Winter Mats
I just upgraded to a new C4S last week from my '05 C2 - what a HUGE difference. In anticipation of the winter weather around the corner, I wanted to try and find some winter (rubber) mats for my new car. I can't seem to find anything available directly from Porsche and the only other source I find are the aftermarket McNeil mats. I had these in my C2 and they really are chunky and hard to clean. I'd prefer to find something similar to the Monster mats that VW/Audi uses. Anyone know of other sources out there?

www.weathertech.com. we use them on our porsche's in winter. Not the prettiest, but they catch and hold all the slush/salt that comes off your shoes in winter and keep it out of the carpets.

You might consider the OEM rubber floor mats which can be purchased from Suncoast Porsche and other dealers. The fit of these mats is identical to the fit of the OEM carpet floor mats. They also have the same Velcro fasteners.
I purchased a set due to the heavy rains that we experience in the southeastern US and the mats have been very effective at containing water that has been tracked into the vehicle on rainy days. The rubber floor mats each have multiple surface channels and a slightly raised outer lip to contain water.
I can’t speak on their performance in snowy conditions, but they definitely perform well in rainy conditions, including torrential downpours.
Hope this helps…

The digital fit floorliners are the way to go. They overlay the sill so anything can be brushed out and prevents stuff from getting stuck in the well. I have them in my Cayenne for 3 years...daily driver and they're great. Even now, they can clean up to almost new appearance. Fox Ent Inc. make similar mats for Corvettes which are carpeted...though I don't know if they're making them for 911's. I had the Fox product in my Ford truck...they were the first around. I'll be putting the floorliners in my new C4S/T4S...when I decide.

It looks like Porsche is putting their name on the floor liners from WeatherTech. The attached ad was in Excellence magazine but no information is available on them till the end of this month I'm told. I've spoken to my dealer and Porsche customer service.

You may want to consider cocomats as an alternative. The ones they are making today are vastly better than what they produced in the 1970s. They have heavy rubber backing to them, making them leak proof. The rough surface provides good traction, and may let your shoes dry out a bit better than just rubber mats. I think they look pretty good as well, especially for a car with something other than black interiors.
