Steve, I like the P43's better than the Techart wheels too. In fact, I like the stock S II wheels better than the Techart wheels.

I wouldnt do it, but I am not as brave as you either. All my Porsches have been classic color combos and I think about it when it comes to resale. I love Porsche Racing green. if I KNEW I was going to keep it then I would have no problem with it. But I usually think about how it will look to someone else after me. BUT this is just ME. For instance I LOVE Speed Yellow but I wouldnt order it because it would be harder to sell than white/black/silver/ Guards red.
I WOULD however go with Cobalt blue just because I love it but that might be a risky color too. But I like all the Porsche blues. Midnight, lapis, even Gulf.
The important thing is YOU know what the car is for and thats what is important.

I love green and hate blue. I am thinking about bidding on the 996 paint to sample Turbo. Hard to imagine for an only car, but what a low mileage statement!

I was going to note that when I saw the Porsche Racing Green on 997.2 launch day, there was a hottie in a short skirt with her legs out the open driver door ... not that would influence my opinion of the color!

IMO, Racing Green and Cocoa would not look good together. I just looked through the 911 inventory of about 25 Porsche dealers. Every Racing Green car in stock that I found had a Sand Beige interior. Cocoa interiors were only in white or silver cars. Cocoa also looks good with Macadamia.
But if you really like it, go for it.

If this car is a keeper for ever then get what you want. If you think you might want to unload this one in the near future then you have to consider that it will take a long time to sell because of color choices. If you can live with that then go for it.

So, FI Flyer, what's up with your green car?

I saw a brand new green C4S in my neck of the woods (Malachite Green Metallic?) and it's a sweet looking car. I wish I had done that. For what it's worth, all the women in my life (wife, daughters, mum & mum-in-law) think the Cocoa interior is smashing. I have natural brown in my boring midnite blue exterior (this is by design, because I use it for daily commute), but my wife's BMW has the cocoa interior on black. I think you should go for the color-combo and I know you will feel very special driving in it.

Racing green/cocoa. I only wish that the green were a real (1950's Jag) non-metallic. My first car was a (light blue) TR-3A and I always admired the British Racing Green Jags (and Triumphs.) In my memory they always had brown interiors -- although I am unsure what tone -- and they looked great. So Racing Green and Cocoa it will be.
I have been tempted by the natural brown interior but, to my eye, it, and every other Porsche brown leather looks too red or orange-y. If the Porsche brown leather were a bit browner, I might have selected it, but as it is, Cocoa works best for me.
I realize that I may take a hit for my color choices when it comes time to sell the car. But just so the car is not totally bizarre (for which see above in this thread), it should not be too bad. I hope. In the meantime, I will have the car I really want rather than a bland -- if sensible -- compromise.
A final question: Am I the only one who doesn't really like metallic paint, especially for non-metallic colors, i.e., not gray or silver?
