This happened to me some time back on my PSEs. They replaced the left and right sport mufflers as well as the exhaust tips. It's my belief that Porsche spec'ed the bands or welds too light. They just aren't holding up. Once you go off warranty you can get a real welded to do his thing better than Porsche did and the problem should never reappear.
Sounds like TSB 997 2 10-09 W913 - "Retrofitting Spacer Sleeves on the Clamps on the Front Muffler"
Vehicle Type: 911 Carrera (997)/911 Carrera S (997)
911 Carrera 4 (997)/911 Carrera 4S (997)
911 Targa 4 (997)/911 Targa 4S (997)
Model Year: 2009
Concerns: Clamps on frontmuffler.
Information: This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on certain 2009 model year 911 Carrera/S
(997), 911 Carrera 4/4S (997) and 911 Targa 4/4S (997) vehicles. There is the possibility of excessive
clamping force on the clamps on the frontmuffler increasing the force of vibrations on the
exhaust system.
As a result, it is possible that the exhaust pipes on the rearmufflers can crack on vehicles with
highmileage. This can cause noises and leaks at the rear mufflers.
someone posted a TSB pdf in another thread, and it listed vin numbers start/finish and if you fell in between then those were the cars affected on this mistake.
was 09 cars, mine is a late 08 build and was affected, BUT i have aftermarket center muffler and modified side mufflers so... really nothing they could do for me anyways. i retightened to the 19lbs and hoping all is well.

One of my closest friends is a Master Tech at a local dealership. He gives me the skinny on issues like this. He is seeing more and more cars coming in with the same crack.
Even the big boys have hiccups every now again....
Well fellas, it looks like my VIN does not fall within the range of affected vehicles. My VIN falls well before. Given this, I would inspect your vehicles in though yours doesn't fall within the range.
I just found out that my VIN does....now, I have to go to the local dealer for the fix. i didn't buy my car from them. i hope they don't give me a hard time! i am really nervous about this. I know i shouldn't be, but it is a warranty issue that should take about 10 minutes to fix. I am going to have to be a 'waiter' since they won't give me a loaner(because I didn't buy the car from them).

Shouldn't be a big deal as long as they're not too busy. Had mine done while I waited and only took about 30 minutes. Just go out for a test drive or something...
