I cant seem to keep a keeper for very long.

Going to try and change that by buying a sportbike. In the 600cc range. Then keep upgrading motorbikes and hopefully keep the car stable.

It's not like sports cars of the 60s where they were simple and easy to maintain.

It's not like cars of the 80s which had electronics but AFAIK no microprocessors.

Today's cars are full-fledged complex computers. How long will you expect to keep your laptop if you leave it out on the street or parked in a cold damp garage most of it's life?

Sadly, I bet because of the electronics and wiring harnesses these cars are going to be way too PITA expensive to keep running beyond six or eight so years.

I already promised my son(6) he can have the car when he is in high school. I guess I will keep the car for a while.

I promised myself that the club coupe is going to be a keeper as it is so rare and the color is so nice... Then the pictures and spec of the 997.2GT3RS appears and I could not find a reason not to like it, Damn...

With club coupe, if I was in your shoes I would certainly keep it !

My condolences that you have a sweet C2s, but choose to make you DD a lowly honda civic.

It's not even a HP/power thing...just the color for me. I know that is silly!
I absolutely love Guards Red. I get more compliments on my GR 997
than any other car I have owned.
My Java Black Range Rover Sport doesn't get 1/8th of the compliments.
It's gotta be the color.

yeah! Love the red! The atlas would be good for resale, but I am going to spec out exactly what I want and then get it. But, not now! I love my car
PS. I love you red car!

I know, I know...I'm hoping that when the dealer has an RS spot for me, they offer me a ridiculously low trade-in price for the club coupe as this will make an inexcusable reason to keep it.

I have a theory that there is a direct correlation between how long you keep your wife and how long you keep your car....right or wrong, don't know. Since I have been married for 25 years and have a history of keeping my cars forever...I say, my car is a keeper. But if tomorrow you see me with a new car...don't ask what happend to the mrs.

Ha! Ha!

I have had more Porsches (lost count) than wives (one).

My theory is the "next" Porsche is the best one, and the 'current" wife is the keeper.

When you start optioning "silicone" instead of "ceramic", things get really expensive in a hurry.

Abe, if you have only been married 25 years, you are still in the honeymoon period!

Hey abe,

I think the theory is the other way round.

If one frequently switches wives, he wouldn't have any money left for switching cars.

I haven't "fallen" for my 997 the way I have past Porsches so I don't think I'll keep mine forever. My Lotus Elise is another story, as long as I can climb in it, it stays.

This is my 12th Porsche and I have fonder memories of past ones such as my 87 Carrera and my 96 993. Wish I had kept those.

I loved that C4S..silver on black - big butt on it - Motor Sound Package option made me weep when i fired it up BUT...made the mistake of test driving the C2 cab on a beautiful July day - top down et al....but the C4S loved to be driven hard - i was just more comforatble at speed in that coupe. If i could of managed the cost at the time - I would have kept both.

I do love wheeling around with the top down though I must admit - hence the new cab on the way...
