I just got my '06 C2S Coupe and will probably have it 2 years. It's my first Porsche (after 18 other cars) and I'm crazy about it, but I get what I call "Car A.D.D." and always want something new after a year or so. I'll likely trade for an '09 or '10 C2S Cabrio (maybe w/PDK) the next time around. I already know I'm a Porsche guy for life after forcing myself to wait until 30 to get one. We're a lucky group of owners here. My '97 Lexus LX450 (Land Cruiser) is my keeper, along with the future Land Rover Defender 90 I'm currently shopping for.

Of course it's a keeper,--until someday far into the future when something far better comes along...Right now, I have way too many fond memories with this car already!

My 07 997.1 is a keeper. Why? Mostly financial. I can't afford to lose 15-20k depreciation a year to drive the latest/greatest.
I ordered her. I paid for her. I already took a bath on her. I am hoping my losses are pretty much over with. I am just hoping that no expensive repairs are in my future.
It goes w/o saying that if I hit the lottery, I will be back for more. But that is the only way.

Same here.
I plan to keep my 08 C2S 15-20 years.
It's not a daily driver.

I plan to keep my 2008 C2S ( just got it recently and still breaking it in). I do not need the latest model. I was originally looking for a 993 for my weekend toy but as I looked, the cars I became interested were quickly gone or the prices got close ( within $20K) of a new leftover 2008 C2S. As I was planning to keep the car for a long time, re-sale value is not as important to me. Also, the last year of a 997.1 might be less problematic than the first year of a 997.2 My point is that I do not need the 997.2 or 997.3 or..... There will always be newer models with improvements ( and risks) but overall enjoyment remains basically the same.

I've stopped deluding myself into thinking any of my cars are keepers. I'm always excited with a new car, but there are simply too many options (Porsche and other brands) out there to kid myself that the current car is one I'll keep for 10 years or more.
For me, cars are a hobby and I like to take in as much variety as I can afford.

i have had my C2 which is very tricked out since it came out in fall of 05, it is a 2006. I now have 75k miles and it of course is my daily driver. I drive it to work and back and go out and drive everywhere with it. For those of you who feel these are investments, rethink it. I enjoy driving it, and will keep it for who knows how long, but to sell it and buy something which will get me to 60 miles an hour a quarter of second or 1/2 second faster and spend again the money to me is just crazy. My car is almost paid off, and now i am thinking of refressh
ing it by putting a G3 front and rear, and H&R springs. Guys these are serious toys and why not keep them? For those of you who lease, that is another issue, you dont have much choice, for those of you who buy new, you will be upside down when you sell anyway. who cares?
