i'm looking at an 08 c2S for $74k, without negotiation. standard options + PSE, 18" wheels, meteor gray over black.
i'm also looking at leases for 09s, with non-negotiated 5% off sticker, but when i went down to the dealership, residual offered was 45% on 09 911s and cayman S with a money factor of .003 or so. is that a reasonable money factor and residual?

And target _at least_ 10% off a new '09.

I just swapped my 07 TT for a new 09 C4S with PDK many options. Got a great deal with the car listing at 115k and I handed my 07 TT for the new car! In one way or another got a good deal as I think 07 TT residuals are going to drop even further with the new ones coming out. For me it was a perfect deal.

The cash back word is out there, we have it on the web sites of both our stores. I suspect the deals will continue until a lot more 09 inventory is gone. I will say this I am looking around for specific cars that are not all that rare color and optioned cars and the better stuff is going a lot quicker than I thought. There will always be leftovers, stuff like the C4S PDK launch car and the C2S green launch car. Dont hold your breath waiting for the pre owned market to come back I would say time is working against you.
In options terms a pre owned is like owning an out of the money call option on an index. The volatility just got slammed and the calls taken a bath in value and even if the market starts moving back your way time will have taken such a bite out of the price its not going to go up in value.

As others have already stated...the massive hit our older 911's take is the problem...I was ready to pick up 2009 c4s, sticker @100k discounted to 95K...my 2006 c4s had a trade-in value of 65K(this was back in November) so the cost of the new one was 30K...
Fast forward to today..trade-in value 45K, new car @80K, cost of new one 35K...actually the cost to trade-in has gotten worse, not better...dealers always try to make 15-20K on the transaction???
All these Porsche programs only deliver 1st time purchasers of a 911 or someone without a trade-in...hence the poor results...most 911's owners are repeat buyers...so after all the smoke and mirrors...the cost to purchase a new 911 has gone up...Really wish I would have sold my 911 last fall, then we would be talking...As always..thanks for the insight and information Trader220

You can do a dealer search by state. It will list each dealer in Calif. Then look at each's inventory. Shouldnt take too long. You may want to stick to No Cals dealers like Niello, Freemont. Carlsen. Etc etc.

I'm looking for an easier way to compare inventory between dealers. I know that Trader can do it. Too bad individuals don't have the access. dave

Colors?
options that are must haves, the big stuff, navi, SC, bluetooth, ipod? The rest of the options are hit or miss at this point in the inventory cycle.

I'm flxible on the color and would like all of the toys. This will be a DD. If you can point me to a few dealers with PDK coupes, I can take it from here. Thanks.
