Default Yet another dream realized

Just picked up my first Porsche! 2008 C2 with 4,000-ish miles. The exact color I was looking for (Slate Grey) and the options I wanted (and some I didn't know I wanted, but love, like Sport Exhaust).

I had them add an XM receiver from the Cayenne and an iPod adapter in the center console from NavTV.

I've wanted one since I was about 11 years old - and it has always been my favorite car by a mile.

Big thanks to the members of this board who were kind enough to answer my questions, and in showing continued enthusiasm for the car. It was a true motivating factor in pulling the trigger. I wonder if Porsche is aware how influential sites like this are ....

Slate Grey is a stunning color. My old 986S was Slate.

Congratulations . . . enjoy it!

Can you elaborate on adding an XM receiver from a Cayenne and an iPod adapter in the center console from NavTV. Any pictures? What about cost? Did the dealer do it? Thanks

Congratulations on the acquisition! Are you planning on modding it or just leave it stock for now?

Bruce: I had the dealer take care of everything prior to picking up the car. They had another company install the NavTV, and did the XM module themselves. Price was rolled into the deal, break down:

NavTV unit and install: Around $700 - $800
Installed in the center console

Porsche Cayanne XM unit: I want to say it was just over $600. They wanted about $450 for the install, but I negotiated that for free.

XM works perfectly - it's the same as stock. iPod (iPhone 3Gs) is hidden and the interface is in the PCM - which is really nice, keeps everything clean. The adapter even charges the phone. Bad side of the iPod is usability - the way in which you navigate and select music is only OK, and there is no Random function (the option is there from the CD menu, but it is not active). The manual says you can control input manually from the iPod (have not tested yet, just read that) and that's what I'll likely do.

I will update the link from the OP with more pictures when I get home tonight.

emmros: besides the tech bits, I was not planning on moding.

I am very curious what you guys would recommend as 'must have' add ons. I read about a liner for the front trunk - is that really important? I bought the colored wheel caps. Any no-brainers?
