the oil consumption thing always has me scratching my head...

during "break in" i literally beat the **** out of the car, as i do daily... (drive it like i stole it and redline her 15-20x a day)... done this with 2 porsche's and havent burned a drop of oil...

so either im lucky, or abusing the car does it best.

i still however keep a quart in the trunk just incase as it fits... if you open where the air pump is a qt fits perfectly in the empty center section so thats it not even in the way or anything.

I just did about 1,000 miles last weekend to Monterey and surrounds and back down to LA, from city traffic to well intro triple digits.

Electronic reading is the same.....

Oh, that's a '99 C2 with 60k miles....

Just returned from my trip.

Absolutely great drive--didn't want it to end.

No oil usage at all in over 700 miles.

Found a great road just outside of Chicago (near Elgin)
with lots of tight and hilly curves.

I am in love with my 997.

I justed turned 6,000 miles going through Des Moines, IA
this afternoon.

Yup, you broke it in properly.

Its really sad that $80k sports cars from one of the finest sports car producers on the planet seem to have an oil burning tendency.
