Floating a For Sale 2006 997S X51 - Car is Sold

That is a fantastic car at an unbelievable price. I would jump on it, if I were in the market. I know the economy is bad, but I've never seen this type of car at this price. On the other hand, I could never part with such a car-are you dead sure you want to sell the car?

I haven't advertised it anywhere but here and on 6SPD and there are 2 very interested people from here and one is doing a PPI this morning so we will see how that goes.
Thank you for the kind words on the car.
If you can't PM you can contact me at rjsproperties@gmail.com as well.

Interesting in that in this example, leasing looks like the better deal...likely because the car was only held ~ 3 years. At a purchase price of $115K, and a sales price of $60,000, that is a $55K hit. Divided by 36 months and that's about $1,500/month. My lease payment is $1,450 on a three-year term.
Regardless....Man, whoever buys this car for $60K is getting the steal of the day!!

Super nice car with agreat options...even better with the added performance options like the seats, bar, harness and lower control arms. Perfect real sports car in my opinion....this is a heck of a deal!
If you end up parting out the performance parts let me know I might be in for the lower control arms.

To get these mods done to any 997 would be more than $15K!!!!!! + labor
Now factor in that this is a X51..... and this is a deal of the century.
Basically you are buying a car that will out drive any 997 other than a GT3.
Hell with a goos aftermarjet exhaust, this will have just as much or more power than a GT3!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF were you last year toomey when i bought my car!!!!
BTW, I have seen this car many times in person and its is in perfect condition.

You're probably going to do better, if you put the stock seats back in and remove the harness bar. Sell those parts separately. Otherwise, you're limiting the buyer pool to those who want track seats and harnesses and may scare away street car buyers.
And while there's nothing wrong with tracking a Porsche, I wouldn't highlight that as leaving in the seats and harness bar will do.

I think the gain is about 25 HP. Right? So, over $600 per HP gained. Pretty typical. At least the gains are real.

The car did sell. Sale was run through a dealer for CPO.
The price the buyer paid for the CPO was on on top of the $60,000 I was asking. I believe the total price to the buyer was $63,200. I list this info for comparable purposes. In hindsight I probably could have pulled the seats, harnesses, & bar out and still sold the car for $60,000. My point being if I wanted to go through the trouble I may have been able to obtain $4000 - $5,000 more.
I like the buyer. He contacted me about an hour after I listed this last Wednesday evening (8-12-09) and was very pleasant and easy to work with. He is from this forum and as much as I loved this car I am confident it went to a good home.
