There was some discussion in another thread about some sunroof's not one-touch closing and it occurred to me I had not seen a post anywhere about the "sunroof reset" routine.
If it's has been posted before apologies and I'm reciting from memory but here it is:
1. Open roof fully. Make sure it's at the very rear position, not the intermediate open position.
2. Press and hold the open button again. Actually I'm pretty sure it's the open button you press but if it's one of the others I'm sure someone will correct me.
3. After a few seconds the roof will start to close. Keep the button pressed.
4. The roof will close, tilt, re-open, close and maybe more. Like a sun dance!
5. Once it stops moving release the button.
That should reset all the controls back to the factory settings and I assume provides the various sensors with new reference points.
This came to me from my dealer when we had trouble getting the roof to tilt after delivery. Didn't help me but maybe it will reset those with one-click close issues.
i can one click open but closing i always have to hold.. i will try the above.... one click close would be awesome.. my one click open is touchy as well.. if u hold it for a fraction of a second too long then it doesnt auto open either.
Just did it. Roof opens almost full. Press open again and it opens completely (didn't know it went that far, was always upset it didn't open 100%) then hold open button, it closes, tilts, closes, opens, closes and you let go.
Thanx!! Now instead of opening 75% it opens 100%. Doesn't one click close tho. Do I need to repeat or 997.2 doesn't one click close?
My 997.1 sunroof one-clicks on everything, with the only exception that it doesn't one-click close from the tilt position (probably b/c the distance of travel is much too short?).

No problem.
My 997.2 does one-click close. Others have said theirs don't but I reckon that's a fault and personally if it was my car I'd call that out at the dealer.

Am I the only one who is livid that Porsche has decided to eliminate one touch closing for 09?
All my previous models had it and now it's gone!!
Pay more and get less creature features!!
It worked! Somehow my sunroof wasn't opening and closing properly but after I did what OP said, now it works perfectly!
Things like this really make my day! I just want to thank the starter of this post as well as all the replies. Much appreciated!

That doesn't work on my '05. The owner's manual says to hold the tilt button. That works to reset mine.
the trick is to keep the center button pressed
it will tilt the sunroof at first
keep pressing thenit will open it
keepnpressing then it will close back
you are now ready to enjoy one clicl open and close again
