Based on that argument, black must be even farther from novelty

Go with any colour but black. Hey, black is not a colour!

You got a good deal because green Porsches have been known in the industry for years as "theft-proof green." I'm not a big fan of black either, but with green the "good deal" you got will be lost when you get around to selling the car down the road.

I predict it will be a short-lived color. Such colors hang around for 2-4 years and then are deleted by Porsche for a lack of orders. Years from now someone can look at your car and get pretty close to guessing its age by the color.

Default Isn't that Mustang Blue?

Wow. Nice buzz kill, Dan.
I'd point out that your color is now available on the 2010 Mustangs, but, we're friends, and I wouldn't want to jeopardize that.
So, you're sayin' that Black is the new Green? Bummer.

Actually, John, I saw one of those Mustangs today on 101. It's a bit different, but you know how it is when you're a trendsetter,--you have to accept that others will follow!

Not attempting to 'kill' but just pointing out reality,--having been watching the Porsche market for 4 decades.

Gotta love the comments from the arctic silver/black crowd. Just a bit too narrow a comfort zone there guys.

Black is great, but be prepared to work like hell keeping the shine, those 10 minutes after the detail spray are the best!

Green and tan is a great combo.

I'm happy to see you chose the green. The resale value should be fine as well since there are plenty of buyers that prefer a car with color over the common BWSG. Post some pics when you get a chance!

Guards Red is the classic color on a 911. Timeless and classic and
easy to keep clean.

Less so than white?

Great thing about 911s - they defy color for the most part. Some cars only look good in certain colors - 911s have no such limitations (although anything in Pink is just not right on a car). The best color for a 911 is the color that the key in your pocket ignites.

I love my basalt black.
You guys that hate blacks do not see the deep luster and depth of a 2000 sunsets in the infinite beauty of highly polished onyx with sparkles of light that permeates the afterglow of total pitch of the universe beyond the andromeda nebula.
Blend that with natural brown luxury and you have the face of god.
Gadzooks men its a cab. There is no hard painted top. It takes no more than an hour to acheive this beauty. Its a labor of love.
Every other color in its pristine comparison is an after thought.

I'd take the hunter green over guards red, that is for sure. Red should be reserved for Ferraris, chevy cavaliers and honda motorcycles only....
