I looks like the steering wheel was designed to mimic the new Turbo wheels, which also look like crap!

I agree. I like the current buttons because I can shift up/down with either hands at any steering wheel position. I think we may be the minority here.

Yeah, have to agree about the Mustang resemblance. I didn't think it looked too bad until I read that! I also agree about the current system being more than adequate now that I've trained myself to use it. I also like using the stick. As for the paddles, Ferrari set the standard for all sorts of reasons.

The Porsche system would be perfect if I never drove another car with a sequential box! Unfortunately porsche decided to flaunt convention with forward to upshift and back to downshift. It's just one more unnecessary thing to think about when entering a corner. Now that I drive a PDK (which I love), I'm going to have to start thinking about a previously completely subconscious act in the race car.

Yep - I still just shift with the stick when the buttons move too far from 10 and 2. But I would not care for one paddle for up and one for down - way too awkward - especially if they are on the move - I reckon it is what ever you are used to.

Damn you for pointing that out to me. Now I can't see it the old way any longer.

Hands should be 9 and 3. 10 and 2 is how old fogeys drive.

Damn, first they adopted the Vette Z06 rims for the 997.2 C2S, and now they go with the Mustang steering wheel for the TT. What's next?

The 997.2CS rims or the Z06 rims are actually great! The 'Mustang' steering wheel not so much.

Jumped straight out of my Ferrari Challenge Stradale into my C2S PDK and I will say I find no issues with the buttons the way that they are in the P. It's just a metal shift like finding the right key sequence on a mobile/cell phone. I don't think the paddes a la Ferrari et al are better, just different.

I don't own a PDK car, but I've autox'd them twice. Both times I accidentilly hit the shift button. Personnaly I prefer the paddles on my DSG'd GTI.
