997.2 is just scary..
had my 997.1 for 3 months and i still did my usual driving habits (pretty much flooring it everywhere) very aggressive spirited daily driving. which i had done on all cars past.. im not a dangerous driver but when i find a fun road and no cars to endanger i just let it go and have fun..
jump in the 997.2 and passing on highway which usually i would downshift to 4th and gun it and go from 75--->90 to pass.. the same amount of time on the gas resulted in me looking down to 125 when i thought it was at the same 90 as before..
and every other time i have given it considerable gas it just ends up scaring me, faster than anything else i have owned.. especially when you click it all the way down to the floor... just downright beast of a car...
i would reccomend anyone out there considerng the upgrade to run not walk and get the 997.2, i am insanely impressed with pdk and will more than likely upgrade to a turbo if pdk comes out on them in the coming year..
LOVE pdk, dont love the shifters still.. i need fixed paddles for up and down and the R/1 buttons on the console to please me in that department... nothing like driving a ferrari f1 trans or maserati f1 trans with R and 1 on the console and fixed paddles behind the wheel and the automatic parking brake when you shut off the car...

very glad to hear this. i'm putting my 997 on the market because i got a good but not great trade for it on a new one. i can go a few months without one but your story is a great one to year.

the dealer i bought from was MORE than fair on my trade in, if you want something now can surely get you great trade in value and a great deal on new car w/ my guy... take advantage of that 10k they are getting for sure..
before i did the deal i kept saying "its like 25k diff for same car" he made it then a 20k difference and i said "what the hell, ... the buyers remorse started after i sent the cash and was getting ready to drive to make the deal..
the SECOND i saw the car with its LED's the buyers remorse started to pass, the instant i drove the car and immediately hit 101 on a backroad thinking i was only going about 60 (used to old 997.1's acceleration) i was scared but happier than ever..
i can say now that even if it was a 40k difference (double what i paid) it would be worth the upgrade as the new car is just an entirely different beast in everyway.. corners better, accelerates much better, brakes better, feels better, PCM is better, looks better, lights up the road better, is more visible for other drivers on the road.. just makes you step back and say wow like i have never done before with a car.... i can sit and look at 50-100k watches all day and see the value, which i never saw in a car... but the 997.2 is the first car that i can actually say is worth its weight in gold.. not a regret or spec of buyers remorse after dropping the 70k paid for the 997.2 (after considerable discount of course,) i was wishing i had gotten sport chrono, but unless u track i find it almost useless... i was also wishing i had gotten an S, but again overkill if the base model can instill fear into those who drive "on the edge" already..
im terrified to buy the pdk turbo when it comes out.. ill just have to find a better lawyer to keep on retainer when that time comes.

I'm not so sure the #'s are correct for passing in a 997.1 vs. 997.2 but it is a faster car. I LOVE PDK, especially after the free Porsche track day to try it out, so I can understand completely why anyone would want to trade up from .1 to .2 for 997 models. I'm keeping mine and hopefully will add a 997.2 within a couple years.

Seen videos where it kills 996TT, Audi r8 and m3 coupe. Haven't seen any vids against 993.
If a NA coupe can kill the 996T or other cars with more power just shows you the DI and PDK is superb

A certain Nordic Gold 997.2 did a "performance acceleration test" vs an 04 GT3.
We stopped @ 100 mph and the GT3 was still several cars back.
PDK and launch control made me look good!
GT3 sounds much better though
cheers
