The 911 and the variants are the least likely to be affected when Porsche becomes another brand of VW. These cars have large profit margins, broad niche marketing w/ little R&D or assembly line effort, and a brand identity that is unrivaled. The Turbo can effectively compete in the same market as Lambo and Ferrari at half the price. The GT3 and GT2 are also stand-alone offerings that net large profit and high visibility, with little to no effort. Insofar as racing is concerned Piech has more interest, and track record, in motorsports than Weideking ever did. It's Porsche's entry level models that are most vulnerable to VW/Audi cross platform engineering. There is ample precedent over the last 30+ years to support that proposition.

Good for you, then why are you spending time on this forum posting about a car whose existence you don't care about?

It'll be a sad day if the 911 dies in the hands of VW.
