Default visor clip mount of valentine v1?

i have light sensitivity and have to get entire windshield tinted on all my cars.. this rules out any suction cup mounts as they just peel the tint off especially if near the top from the weight..

searched and searched and havent found anyone with visor mount.. dealer will hardwire the power free for me.. just gotta figure out how i am going to mount it.. does clipping to visor work or does it make it flap around like well.. flapping around with the bumps/etc.. can you maybe reverse clip mount it to the back?

either way, does anyone have pics of V1 clipped to visor and how did you do it to make it not wobble to and fro with bumps... thank you.

I thought my V1 came with a visor mount, and I recall it worked fine when I tried it initially (5 years ago), though I moved to the window mounts after a short while.

I used to use visor mounts for radar receivers for years, but found that they prevented the use of the visors which I didn't care for. As such, I wound up putting my Valentine up on the suction cups and have had no issues with that whatsoever. With the amount of bumping around these suspensions are capable of, I would not consider the visor method as it would break free easily. Recall that the visors are designed to have tension that is sufficient for the visors themselves, and not with an additional mass on them. Here's the way I did mine:

For what it's worth....on all my cars (993 through 997.2 & AMGs) I've never used suction cups.....I use the cup bracket.....modify.....then 2 tiny screws into windshield surround (virtually indistinguishable when you flip the car).

yes, i saw your link and several others.. suction cups are not possible because with tint on entire front window.. the weight of v1 would pull on tint, and after a while cause it to peel..

as noted originally, tint from light sensitivity:

i know the visor mount would be weak, but was thinking if it was clipped from the backside "reversed" then shouldnt put weight on the pivoting motion but weight on the bracket which shouldnt matte much?

i could have sworn seeing someones random pics with the visor mount but searching "valentine" and 'valentine visor" a few times yeilded nothing but suction cupped mounting's

Sorry, This full tint thing seems more of a Fl cool fashion statement
What's wrong with good old Dark Sunglasses??

You would never be able tint like that in CA

Cut the tint away just enough for suction cup attachment...problem solved..

I mutilated a Valentine visor mount by removing the metal clip and replacing it with a velcro strap.

Photochromic lenses would work.

Driving in the dark can't be that fun tinted like that.

LIDAR is becoming more prevalent for enforcement, the V1 becomes less
effective as time passes.

a) car looks badazz with the front tint b) what if the tint shop used a fine razor and cut a round hole in the tint the size of the suction cups? that way, when mounted, you'd see nothing as the cups would fit perfectly into the cutout holes.

Remove all 'suction cup related' stuff from the V1 slide-in bracket.....yes 2 small screws, no clip.
Front top edge of V1 rests against windscreen (as normal)......very stable.
I drive w/visors down all the time myself.....V1 is not visable from the exterior of car at all......and not visable to the walk up trooper who is looking in from your left.
Needless to say I use the remote on all cars.....mounted straight down from driving line-of-site....on the column.

If you have light sensativity, when do you put the top down on the convertible?
