I think Porsche might have stopped putting the sticker under the hood. My 07 did not have one, and my 08 does not have one.

The cars now only come with one.

It should be placed on p.1 of your Maintenance Book (Vehicle Identification)

Neither my car or 997.2 Maintenence Book has it, although there is a space for it

Mine is an early '05 and had one in the maintenance book as well. Good thing cause the one under the trunk lid is not legible anymore.

They stopped putting them inside the trunk lid some time back. It is placed inside the first few pages of the maintenance booklet.

Check all your books - sometimes it's on a loose piece of paper and the dealers forget to pull it off and stick in the maintenance book - that's where I found mine.

Post the Vin number you're looking at and I'll print you the pro forma from the Porsche system. The sticker which your dealer should have put in the book comes detached and in the glove box.

I’ve heard that the placement of the sticker on the underside of the bonnet was optional. Some dealers did it, some didn’t. As mentioned above, if it’s not on the underside of the bonnet, then it should be in the maintenance book.
