Default road trip

Whats the longest road trip anyone has taken in their porsche.I just finished a 3200 + mile trip from the Dallas area up into middle PA.The interstates are in great shape and traffic was light everywhere.I averaged 24.5 mpg ,burned no oil and had very little tire wear.Had the cruise set at 75 or 80 most of the way.The hilly country 1.5 wide lanes in PA around my old home were the most fun, tight curves etc. like the best track ever but with the occasional tractor. The 911S made a couple 150 mph plus runs out in the middle of nowhere on a four lane with about 8 mile visibility.I also used Road Wrap on the front of the car and it worked great.

My longest was the same,--3200 miles in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. (180 mph + in Germany, with a quart every thousand miles--still).

Close seconds with 2200 miles several times from SoCal to Central Oregon and back. (Rt 1 and 101,--no 'interstates' for me!)

There's an article by a PCA member in the July issue of Panorama, clocking 4700 miles from Dallas to the California coast (Cambria to Mendocino) driving a 997 coupe.

I have done several 2000 mile trips. They are fun!

Castle Rock, CO to Bigfork, MT and back every summer in a '06 C2S. A couple of months on Flathead Lake, then back to Colorado again. I usually end up driving about 4000 miles on the trip with less than 5% on interstates. I vary the routes every year too; plenty of opportunites to slay the back roads.

I brought my XK8 up this year but will make another trip with the C2S later in the summer.
