PDK superior to 6 speed
#3
Having owned over 20 911's and even with my daily driver being a manual A6 you can see I am a dies in the wool manual guy. I have now spent 2 months driving a demo PDK car and I have come to the conclusion that I would buy a PDK over a manual at this point in my life. My only suggestion is to get one with the Sports chrono so you get the two other programs in particular the regular "Sport" mode which is more suited for my kind of driving then the standard mode.

Does one have to be superior to the other? I don't think so. If I could own one of each - now that would be superior.
Of course your situation; drive the car or be unable to - no-brainer for PDK.

Different folks, different strokes... Manual is the only way I would ever drive a 911.

Yes I have driven it extensively for a few days but I at the end, I went with manual. Dont get me wrong, Im NOT knocking PDK at all, it's just NOT for me at this particular time. May be in a few years when I get a bit more lazy than I already am.

Give it a break, both sides. There are 2 options... pick the one you like and no need to knock the other one.

My point is that I drive my car everyday- I drive in NYC traffic often w coffee in hand to make it bearable a tip or pdk less car is not an option. It would hurt even more if I couldnt use it with my recent injury esp forking over a monthly lease. I suspect if it was my right knee Id even still be driving the pDK. Purely speaking the stick would be a more visceral experience i suspect but not at all practical in my circumstance. If it was a weekend play car perhaps then I would consider -as I never track thats not a factor.
