HELP!! my 997 will be dead
#17
Great Question...several ideas(like making sure to keep the trunk ajar) were given to the owner(the whole point of a public forum) yet some person needs to try and humiliate....Some people gain personal satisfaction by always "being right"...I guess my rant falls into the realm of "being right" as well...I should just be thankful that some people like to share and help others that request help...Happy Fourth

As others have said, if your battery is in good condition, it should be able to sit for 2 months in storage without an issue. You can leave the trunk "popped" open, but sitting down in the latch. The light inside the trunk goes out after a short time, just in case the battery does drain down and you need to jump start the car.
There is a way to open the front trunk with a spare battery (or I've done it with a battery charger on my 01 996 Turbo). It is not like you can always plan for a dead battery. I assure you that one day you may go out into your garage and find the battery dead and the trunk locked. Not a problem in the 997's as the manual is generally kept in the glove box or somewhere other than the front trunk. That was a major hassle with the 996's prior to the 02 model which had no glove box. Most folks kept the manuals in the front trunk, and of course, that's real convenient when the battery dies and you're locked out of the trunk.
But I digress. If you do decide to remove the battery, be careful. It's easiest (least strain on your back, and less risk of slipping and denting a fender) to stand in the trunk to remove it. Personally, I would just leave it hooked up, or disconnect the cables and leave it in the car.

I rented a storage for two months.
My 997 will be sitting there for two months without battery maintainer.
There is no outlet in the storage.
Will the battery be dead when I come back?
Is there any way that 997 can still alive after two months?
Or is there any battery maintainer that working without outlet?
Any proper way to storage?
Any comments are welcome!! HELP!!!
