I know some people had issues with him, and I noticed he is no longer posting...is there more to the story?

I'm not surprised that the prices have gone up, but I also believe that the incentives will continue for some time given the poor economic condition and likely forecast. What will be interesting to monitor is the degree to which Porsche further curtails production.

They need to start adding more standard features into the car if they are going to raise the price.

That's so much for posting this. it's interesting to watch the creeping up of the prices. I can only recall TWO different years since I started following these things (1973) when the subsequent year had a lower price!

It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the timing of this price increase. Porsche sales are soft and deteriorating further. The lack of incentives when virtually everyone else is offering attractive deals turns many buyers off. We on this forum tend to be big Porsche fans so we don't always react the way the broad market does to these types of "market arrogant" moves. And there are pleanty of great car choices available to the consumer who is not a hard core Porsche nut. I'll bet that there will heavy discounting later in the year when Porsche can't meet its numbers.

prediction - the next Porsche's buyers segment to soften up - medical doctors. I visited two dr friends of mine last weekend, both have delayed planned Benz purchases. Why? Fear of the coming health care reform law negatively affecting their practices/incomes.
