Default What Is The Attraction To The C4 -- Just Curious?

I have noticed a lot of people looking at and buying C4's instead
of C2's. I am curious why people are purchasing this model.
Is handling significantly better?

I would think the AWD would pose a few more mechanical
issues as time progresses. Perhaps not.

I have both versions and I can tell you they both have pros and cons.
The 4 provides you with a great deal of stability and traction in inclement weather. The 2, on the other hand, is more responsive under acceleration. When it rains, I enjoy the 4 immensely due to its increased traction and stability. +1 with allegretto, the wide *** look, in my opinion, does look more attractive due to its more aggressive stance. Hence, if purchasing one of these vehicles for DD you should take into account the prevailing environmental conditions in which you live. For example, living in the colder or wetter climates I would prefer the 4. On the other hand, if you have plans on tracking the vehicle I would definitely go for the 2, due less weight and greater accelerational response. I hope this helps.

I purchased a C4 because I live in the rockies and we get a fair amount of snow in town. I live on a hillside and the extra grab to get moving will be much appreciated. For me it was worth the trade off of extra weight and complexity to have some extra traction. I have driven in the snow all my life and can say that for most instances the rear wheel drive with traction control would be enough, but not always. Unfortunately some people feel that AWD makes them invincible in the snow, so I have to watch out for those with AWD/FWD that drive like idiots. My car is a DD and will make several trips to work in the snow, sometimes before the plows are out. I have to say that I do like the big butt on the car, but if I lived somewhere with no snow I'd have bought a C2.

I like to take mine up to the mountains and drive - for me, there's a big difference in handling over my Targa C2. And of course, I do like the big hips

Thank you all for your replies.

I can certainly see the attraction, especially if you are driving in the snow,
and like big booty women.

its why J-lo is so popular- When I had a c4s loved the look- didnt find winter traction an issue because regardless of 2 or 4 wheel drive your going nowhere without a set of winter wheels/tires- then theres the issue of the people (esp here in metro NY) who dont know how to drive in winter and smack into you- i went for c2 with full winter package (ford explorer)

The C4S has a more aggressive and meaner look, although heavier due to the AWD. I personally like the red reflector strip going across the back end, visually adds more width to the eye. The C2S does not have the red reflector strip. The new C4S has the Sport PASM as a no cost option. The C2S can be ordered with the Sport PASM but it will cost you extra money as an option.

If I didn't live where it snowed (albeit not so much), I'd have purchased another C2S. As it was, I didn't want to spend/maintain on a second car for winter/daily.

+1, though I'll admit I've made use of the 4. I've taken it up twisty mountain dirt roads that many a soccer mom wouldn't take her fragile SUV.

I bought mine C4S because I like the wider HIP and I like the red reflector strip going across the back end of the car.
