Talking Went in for muffler bypass, came out with a new set of rims

I took my car to Sharkwerks today to install their primary bypass since I was missing the sound of PSE, and somehow I convinced myself that I need a set of HRE P43 as well. Thanks to Alex, not only it looks and sounds great, but these managed to shave a few pounds as well! Bypass is around 9~10 lbs lighter, and the P43 is probably 3~4 lbs lighter than the OEM sports design wheel.

do you know exact weights on the HRE's? because when i weighed my OEM sport wheels same as you have... they were rediculously light and only about 1lb heavier than my Volks which are 20F 22R... i have never seen an exact weight on the HRE's yet.. very curious

Sweet set up. You are going to love the way the car sounds.

Actually I don't, I only lifted it at the shop, and they were very light. However, after the sports design wheel came off, I lifted them and found them to be light too, so I think the difference might be within 2lbs. However, I like the HRE look more, so it's ok if HRE is only a bit lighter.

Yes, the sound came alive above 3000rpm, and since I am still breaking it in, I have not tried WOT yet. However, I think the PSE on my 2007 is still louder than the bypass at the same throttle position.

Hehe sorry sometimes things work out that way eh Seriously our pleasure though and the P43 is so "right" on the 997. It's a good bit lighter too at 21 pounds in the front and 23 in the rear. I'll ask James the weights of your stock ones (sport designs) but they were noticeably heavier....

i just looked up the oem sport and they are 24/28 when i first looked up oem sports someone said 22/24 and i was getting upset i dropped so much on my volks being the lightest 19's to buy besides dymags and only being a few lbs lighter than stock.. the hre weights arent actually that bad if u consider volk goes thru hell making their stuff light and its 20/22 and HRE designs several designs and those are 21/23...... the brushed finish is great..

Ah, that's indeed quite light, thanks for the info. The best thing about P43 is that it accepts the OEM TPMS and factory bolts. Thanks again, Alex.

Loving my Bypass - gets even better sounding with some miles on the car. Mine went on at 2k upon post-break-in oil change and sounded fairly sedate. But at 2600 miles (with a 2-day DE at Monticello) it's sounding great. Just the right balance - deep tone, burble, yet cup-car-like scream at high RPM.
