Garage lifts
Finally a solution to garaging four cars in a three car garage and still have one garage space for the junk. Just finished installing two garage lifts. They are hydraulic lifts. The two Carreras will rest on top, and our daily drivers underneath. They work extremely well. Just felt like showing off.

Wow - that is awesome - cheaper than building another garage!
Do you have any sort of panel on the lift to prevent drips or dirt from falling onto the cars below?
Looks like you had to modify the garage door openers also.
Great work - thanks for sharing

9.5' is marginal. That is what I have now and cannot stack a Porsche and my Audi Avant. I can stack two Porshes. 10 or 11 feet is optimal. The 914 pic. is 11 feet. The 911/928 is 9.5. My current garage is 9.5 and I had to remove a ceiling light and move the door opener assembly to the side. I also stop the door before it is fully open or it will hit the upper car. That was not necessary in my prior garage as it was deeper. Note the 911 is backed on in order to avoid the opener.

The lifts are from American Equipment (www.lifts.com).
I had to hire people to install everything. I was able to find a local guy in the Westchester area to order the lifts and to install them. The quoted price was $3,100 per lift, which includes installation. We bought two, so received a discount to $5,500 for both lifts.
You also have to buy and install new garage door motors and tracks. The lift guys wouldn't do the work, and we had to hire a different guy locally, which cost an additional $2,000. This also required doing electrical work, because you need a power source by the entry way.
I did not have the lifts bolted to the floor, and I didn't see a need for it.
As for height clearance, my garage has 11.5' ceilings, so it wasn't much of an issue. I am able to fit an X5 underneath and the 911 on top, with about 2.5' to spare. 9.5' minimum sounds right.
