Default NICE COP

After owning the car for 15 months, I got pulled over today for no front plate and, in Virginia, it's required.
The cop was a nice guy; he gave me a warning.
I asked him if a notice goes out to all the other cops in the area to be on the alert for me and he said that only happens for citations, but not warnings.

Indeed. I'd get him a jelly donut for his efforts!

When I lived in California I deliberately did not put front plates on any of my cars. It often worked great, giving the cop a reason to write a simple fix ticket or warning instead of a speeding ticket, and still feel important.

We've had ours for 21 months- no front plate here. It is required in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, but I have yet to have any tickets or other trouble because of this. I think this is because we live about a mile from the DC-MD border, and almost all of my driving is out of DC, so maybe the police don't enforce this rule for out of state plates.

We'll see what happens when the car gets it's 2-year inspection. uh oh.

3M double stick tape does the trick for Massachusetts inspections.
