Default Quotes for aftermarket 997.2 PSE installation?

Anybody get any quotes yet for adding PSE to a 997.2? My local dealer called and told me the kit was available and the out the door price was $3800. Ouch. Anybody heard anything different (and hopefully a little less?)

If you want to keep your factory warranty you have to cough up the 3.8k furball, no way around that one. Of course you can always purchase an aftermarket exhaust and swap it out with the original prior to taking the car in for service.

My dealer told me that installing the PSE w/ the PSE button on the dash is a 9hr labor job. They can also install the PSE w/o the switch for 3hr labor. The retrofit 997.2 PSE differs from the 997.1 in that it cannot be switched through SC. Factory PSE includes a separate switch for the PSE even w/SC. The $3800 includes a new switch panel w/ PSE based on your original equipment specs (VIN). Without the switch the PSE is "on" continually. I didn't ask about warranty issues if the switch is omitted by the dealer.

So is $3800 the standard quote? Anybody hear anything else?

what is SC?

I installed the full PSE myself... yes 9 hours is about right. They need to rip out alot of the interior panels and seats... do not visit the dealer while installing the PSE... unless you want to see your new car in pieces.

Sport Chrono. The PSE can be switched on/off through the Sport switch that actives the Sport Chrono programming.

I have a 997.1 and I guess a local P_Car dealer was hungry for business. He quoted me $2,500 with no dash switch and $2,900 for the full install.

I assume this is for a 997.1 PSE? If I understand correctly the install for the older PSE is less involved, and this may account for the reduced price....

I just ordered the PSE for my 997.2. Comes to $3800. 9hrs of labor because of the switch. It'll take a week for it to get here and a day to install it.
