My Porsche was attacked by a peacock!!
So yesterday I visited my mother and stepfather, who live on about 80 acres and have multiple small lakes and ponds, and many swans, geese, and peacocks that run the property...
We were sitting on the patio when I heard a few very large SLAMS from around the house by the driveway. I ran out there to see what was happening, just in time to see a male peacock attacking my Porsche! My car is black, and was spotless, as I had just washed and waxed it on Saturday. The bird saw his reflection in the bumpers, and apparently thought the reflection was a competing male (it is mating season.)
He scratched, gouged, and defacated on BOTH the front and rear bumpers. The scratches are completely through the clearcoat and paint, and the gouges are deep into the plastic.
I just showed it to my body guy, and he said removing and spraying the bumpers will be over $1,000, but he's not real confident that he'll be able to repair the gouges well enough for them to look perfect. So he's saying in order to completely repair, we'll need new front and rear bumpers... over $3,000.
Question: Can't rubber bumpers be repaired? It seems to me like he should be able to bondo/fill the gouges and paint over them?
It may sound funny, but my car looks HORRIBLE, and I'm just completedly pi$$ed! That bird is dead meat. I'll be taking my .22 out there this weekend, and the next time anyone sees him will be at Thanksgiving with all the trimmings.
Ugh!

Repair shops fill the damaged area with plastic and smooth it out, then repaint the area. Black will be easy to repair.
Talk to your insurance company to see if they'll covered it under comprehensive.
