We have wild turkeys nearby that ocasionally attack their reflection in my basement windows. Stupid birds... Just glad I park in the garage!!

Best of luck sorting this out.

A peacock attacked a friend's Volvo 15 years ago and TOTALLY TRASHED the car. Entire hood, doors, bumpers were deeply scratched and both rear view mirrors were pecked to pieces.

During the last two years, I have had ROBBINS attacking their reflections in my patio sliders and several windows. This happens in springtime (mating season) ! Go figure ! Gives new meaning to the term "bird brain" !!

I don't even know what to say... I think I would have went OZZY on his ***.

I mean wtf?! Every time I wash my car, I find a new scratch/dent/chip/smudge/etc. And that's when I decide to get it out from under the car-cover, in the garage, on nice days. Black is awesome!!!(at least for about 8 minutes/8 miles after you wash it, then your screwed)

But the stinkin birds are so cute....just because they **** virtually constantly and peck at anything and everything is no reason to remove their heads.....or is it?

Peacock fethers are a staple for tying flies. If you know any flyfishermen and tie their own flies they would live to get their hands on the feathers. Some of the feathers are prized for tying the classic atlantic salmon flies. they can bring a few bucks apiece.

while it may not cover the cost of the repair it could put a dent in it. If they are grey peacocks a full skin is worth over $1K.

So off with their heads but carefull with the feathers.

I've heard grilled peacock is similar to bald eagle. Can you let us know?

Guys, thanks for the levity! I was pretty out of sorts yesterday about the whole matter, but today am doing much better with it all. Both bumpers will come off, with some plastic welding, and repainting. It's going to cost State Farm at least a couple grand.

As for the feathered vandal, further conversation with my stepfather has revealed that he actually has an overpopulation problem with the peacocks, and already has about 30 in a pen that have been rounded up for eventual "deportation."

If any of you would like some FREE PEACOCKS, you know where to find me.

Just call a few local Chinese take out places. They would be more than happy to solve your peacock overpopulation problem..

Got a good laugh yesterday when I took my car to the body shop for repair...

The owner of the shop walked outside to look at it with me, and said: "Let's go have a look at what that little pecker did to your car!"
