You are ****, aren't you? He meant right-hand traffic (driving).

Then what was the point of his post if not to correct something I said (since you apparently know what he meant)?

My being **** had nothing to do with that, other than that aspect of being **** about being correct and factual.

My bad. I had not seen that post. Next time, please reply with a quote in context.

Come again?

Uhhhh, the context is this thread. You mean you were expecting me to string together all the related posts when I replied so you can see the context? Gee, and here I was foolishly expecting you to retrace the posts so you can see the context for yourself before chiming in!

Just ribbing you, man.

That pattern is only true for modern street bikes. Modern race bikes reverse the pattern (1 is up and 2-6 are down). This is due to ground clearance when leaned over while racing, an issue that does not exist for race cars.

Also, some older bikes had the shifter on the right side

So lots of choices everywhere.

Perhaps it's as simple as the old expressions of pushing on for accelerating and pulling up for stopping.

The Germans are always quite literal in translation.

Having driven both paddles on a C63AMG and now buttons on my PDK I cannot find too much bother with either system and having access to both operations with either hand seems more useful as well.

At least at this point.

I will be going on my first track day next Friday and perhaps there some other points may come to light.

i hate tip, pdk feels like tip the way it is now and makes me not like it.. if it had paddles up/down fixed to the column i would like it more because it wouldnt feel like tip to me.
