The price of the Ferrari 456 with an automatic tranny is holding steady right now,--these are usually reserved for guys buying these for their wives,--who prefer the auto.
I think a manual (not F1) 355 is the biggest bargain in the f-car world, if you can find one with the top end sorted out. Looks great, sounds great, and I like the flip up lights. Honestly I'd love a 348 just for the old school pinin farina testarossa side strakes (the TR was my dream car as a kid). Not too many people know Kreissieg, you a former 355 owner? you know they actually make a 996/7 exhaust now, sounds insane.
I am a Fcar fan but have not yet owned one, I am sticking to Pcars until I am up to my eyeballs in liquid assets so that I will be able to afford to properly maintain and repair a Ferrari. Although, I must say that 430s do tempt me since they finally went to a timing chain and thereby eliminate the notorious belt services.
Kreissiegs sound excellent and are probably the best sounding exhausts but are definitely on the premium end of the spectrum. On 355/360s, a Capristo stage 3 exhaust sounds almost as good for half the price. I have heard the Kreissieg exhaust for both the 996/7 and the Cayman. As with the Ferraris, great sound but very expensive. Tubi exhaust is expensive enough in Porsche world when compared to the other great alternatives that we have.
whats funny is the front engine v12's depreciate faster but they ARE the true ferrari's.... all the original racing cars were front bonnet v12's.... i love 456/599/etc
Again, personally, a true Ferrari has 12 cylinders.
Couldn't agree more. Here are a couple of pics of my brother's '67 330 GTC. Completely original and unrestored with 16K miles. He sold the Dino in the first pic earlier this year.
