Default Yellow Brakes--Porsche Option???

Did Porsche offer or do they still offer yellow painted brakes
without the PCCB option?
Thanks.

You can have practically anything as long as you pay for it. One of the guys in our club has brake calipers painted like the PCCBs (ordered by the original owner) on his 996TT cabriolet. Reportedly, the guy paid something north of $5000 for that. He had to practically beg, and beg again for nearly a year to finally break them down.

I don't think they do but they should do a PTS like the other parts on/in the car.

You can paint them yourself for $35, including the PORSCHE decals.

Dan, are you kidding? $5K to paint the calipers???

$5,000 for Porsche to do it versus $35 to do it myself..... Which way should I go??? Hummm..... I'll have to think about that one for a while!

Funny you mention it. My local dealer had a 996TT on trade-in with yellow calipers. I thought they were PCCBs, but the salesperson informed me that the calipers were only painted yellow. At the time, I thought the previous owner had painted the calipers, rather than ordering them from the factory that way as an option. What a colossal waste of money. For a few grand more, you can buy the PCCBs.

But when you paint yourself, you don't get a warranty on the paint.

Porsche actually did deliver the car with the yellow calipers. (The car is speed yellow with yellow everything).

But the original owner paid a fortune for that silly thing.

it aint gonna look good if you do it for $35 yourself

granted, if you get a pro to do it for a couple hundred bucks, it'll look fine.

I really don't get the whole yellow caliper thing. If I didn't think I'd mess it up I would just paint mine black!
