Default Dealer who sold my car as new

I'm trying to find out who the dealer was who sold my car when it was new, if I call my local dealership will they know this? I tried calling my service adviser but he's out so I thought I'd check here to see if my dealer will know this before I keep calling them.

Is there a stamp or the selling dealership's name on the warranty card or in the front of the maintenance manual?

You can probably call 1-800-PORSCHE and get the info using your VIN.

Service book stamp does show a dealer outside of Chicago dated 10/15/05. Another RLer ran the VIN and found it was a customer ordered car at another dealership outside of Chicago. I'm told the in service date was 10/31/05. Carfax shows it was registered in AZ to the first owner on 11/17/05 with 22 miles on the odometer. I know Carfax isn't 100%, so they could be off.

I guess this is research I should have done before I bought the car, but too late for that. If I hadn't had the car for 18 months without any real problems I would be thinking there was some story associated with my car.

I'll try calling 800-PORSCHE and see if they can shed any light on the story.

Just curious, why do you need to know which dealer sold the car originally?
