Thanks for all the info and dialogue fellas. Still looking for the right deal and may have to wait a month as I just ruptured my achilles. Having a 6sp. pcar sitting in my garage while I am waiting to get out of this cast would just be too cruel. I will keep the group posted

Jesus that is tempting #'s...

Can you elaborate on the condition differences at auction? What can really make a 6k car "average" vs "above average"?

Ouch. I have an '06 C2S, which let's say is comparable to an '07 Cab. That means likely a $15-20k gap between selling it at $50k and buying an '07 Vantage at $65-70k.

Maybe I should stick w/ 911 and ignore the fact that my gf can't drive stick.

Yah, I bought mine via Manheim OVE for $61k back in September. Ouch. Though I guess it's been 6 months and I projected about $10k of depreciation/year anyway, so of that $12k decline maybe only $7k is "mark to market." Much better than if I'd bought S&P 500 with it! :-)

In your experience, what're the weakest Manheim locations right now? Vegas, then Florida, then SoCal?
