Opinions on Full Hood or Half Hood Clear Bra

Do the full hood and fenders or don't do it at all. Honestly, you're going to have lines otherwise and the chips will just be further up the car.
The incremental cost is absolutely nothing on a $100,000 car.

agreed. On my 05 997, I had the partial clear bra and has many rock chips above it. Felt like I wasted good money applying the half. On my M6, at 23000 miles I have no rock chips and no bra...why is that??? Is the paint different, harder?

Does anyone have a picture of a Black (basalt) car with the 3M film on the full hood ? My installer here on the east coast pretty much only uses 3M so if I don't like the orange peel look I may have to find another installer but I know he does real quality work so would like to go with him.

It is true, with 3M, there will be a noticeable orange peel effect especially if you have a darker colored car. Whether it will bother you, you should ask to see if your installer has a darker colored car with a full hood applied to it and then make the decision. In addition, 3m's film comes in a standard 48" roll, which means some installers are not able to install the film all the way to the top. Some may stop 3"-4"s short of the top corners and just join a triangular piece to the top.

I did the half clear bra and wouldn't do it at all if I could go back in time. I get most of the chips right in the windshield, not anywhere on the front hood.
Is there a clear bra for the windshield? :-)

My friends called it the 'Half-Hood Jinx." Whoever our friends did the half-hood, they alway found a rock or two that hit right above the half-hood coverage...
Jinx or not, I think our car sits pretty low on the road (no engine in the front -- low profile hood.) so there is risk to have chips hit the upper half of the hood.... Go for the full hood if choice allows.
Regards,

Same here - I did the half. Don't like the way it looks at all. I've debated removing it all together. Figured I would wait until I get the GT3 bumper
If (when?) I get another P-car I will not put any clear bra on it.
