Thanks, Tim! The OEM wheel just felt so skinny... It wasn't all that comfortable for me.

Trade you the wheel for your X51

I like the interior on the 997. I don't even mind the ugly wart anymore. It kind of grows on you after time.

I ordered a few extra trim pieces in leather like the door finishers, thicker wheel, rear center console etc.

I just had the 997 GT2 seats installed this past week.

I am going for the title of the most money ivested in a 2006 997S. I may not be winning but I am sure I am in the top three or so.

Looks great Rob, but I think I am still ahead of you on dollars spent on mods!

That's what warts do best.

Nice interior! The seats look great.

The one interior "arrangement" I really liked in my 996 was the location of the window buttons, which were on the rear center console. It was the first car I have ever owned that had them there and it was so much more convenient than the door mounted buttons.

Maybe on mods but I have:

997 GT2 Leather Seats, Tech Bar, Scroth Harnesses, Damptronics, Front Lower Control Arms, Bilstein Damptronics, GMG Rear Toe Links, GMG Adjustable WC Sway Bars & MPSCs.

Then the car from the factory: Full Leather, Supple Leather, Door Finishers Leather, Rear Center Console Leather, Thicker Leather Steering Wheel, Power Seat Package, Heated Seats, Self Dimming Mirrors, TPMS, Bose, Sport Shifter, Factory X-51 which includes PSE, Sport Chrono Package Plus, GT Silver Metallic, Carrera Sport Wheels, CenterCaps With Colored Crest, Floor Mats etc.

$116,000.00 Retail new in 2006. Probably worth about $50,000.00 today. Looks like I am going to be married to this car for quite awhile longer.

I drive a 996 and agree 100% the 997 looks better inside and out..... I am used to my 996 and don't drive it enough to update to a 997....never understood what the hell Porsche was thinking when they came out with the 996 and 6 years later I bought one.... and like it enough to keep it (or sell it for a good price and become Porsche less). Next P-car interior will probably go with the car trend...because trends decide the interior and exterior of cars and with Porsche legacy mixes with trend. In the end 911 Porsches will always have their fan base, just because it has a huge history and I can't come up with another brand that used 3 numbers and kept the car to similar over 50 years yet so modern and competitive ...you need to have huge b.lls to do this. and even greater design skills...change is easy look at the japanese and american car designers....

Too me the 997 is one of the nicest interiors of any cars, honestly. I actually like that nothing comes standard. My car cost me 75K because It doesn't have power anything, leather, bose, etc. But I love that. I also love that you can get leather everywher, etc if that is your thing. You can really personalize these cars to your liking. The only thing I have a problem with is that aluminum look, just use real frikin aluminum!
