Ok other than the year what else is different? To my knowledge Porsche didn't do any real changes until model year 2009.
I have personally seen this car. It is a perfect 10 out of 10. With only 6,900 miles it's a nice buy even if it is a 2005 model. Personally I always look to the car that has less mileage since that does add value to a car. If I didn't already have one I would consider this car even though Yellow not my #1 color choice.

Just my .02 cents, though in today's economy it's probably more like negative .20 cents

I'm confused. First, why isn't the OP's car advertised in the Autos for sale section rather than here? And second, isn't there a rule about commenting on pricing in ads? If I think a seller is way out of line on pricing, I will send them a PM, but not publicly undermine their ad by suggesting to potential buyers that the price is too high.

In addition to that car being two years older, I just don't think the eBay reflects full market values. If eBay Motors could generate as much money for car sales as traditional transactions, there would be little reason for the existence of bricks & mortar car dealers. eBay Motors is used by car dealers mostly as an advertising tool: note the very low percentage of 911 eBay auctions which result in a sale. eBay's useful to generate a quick sale, if the seller is willing to take a haircut.

The Rule may only apply to the Members to Members For Sale Forum.

We can argue this all day of what is a better buy, but we can all agree these are very tough times for selling all cars both new and used. I was only trying to show that there are other great buys out there on 997's. Best of luck to all parties.

FYIF that e-bay ad is from my detailer. The original owner of that car asked him to list it on Ebay on his behalf. I have personally seen that car and it is a 10 out of 10 with a negotiable price. It's a BUY for sure. My detailer detailed the car and he showed it to me. It's one of the finest yellow 997's I've seen. I do know the owner is not a Rennlist member so this may be the reason he went with e-bay.

That car above on ebay is overpriced imo. Remember that most '05's also had the old IMS design. Add that to warranty expiration nearing and more wear and there is no way that car, even with less miles, is worth the same as the OP's car.

From what I can tell they have already tanked, as have houses. Never thought I would ever see the day when I hoped the stock would stay flat! Same with Porsche prices.

Ditto. Its missing a few key options for me, otherwise I would have picked it up. This car is priced at a 2006 911 level.

Age winds up being more important than miles. An '05 is now 4 years old, and it's only been driven ~2k miles per year. Engines corrode when they sit without running, exhaust systems rust, rubber deteriorates... cars are made to be driven.

We'll like I said before we can argue the "which is more important age or miles" all day long. The fact is there are tons of 997's out there for sale with very few buyers. I only wish I was a buyer now. On another subject if you think cars are bad. I have a buddy trying to sell a boat. The boat market is way worse.
