Default anyone with fabspeed cold air kit?

Any difference from stock?
What is the difference between fabspeed cold air kit and EVO V-FLOW Air Induction Kit??
Are those built for different performance?

IMO, CAI (cold air intakes) offer little to no HP gain. They are pulling some of the air from the engine compartment, which is not cold air. Most use air filters that must be treated with oil. If they have too much oil in them, the oil can ruin the MAF (mass air flow) sensor which, to replace, will cost more than the CAI did. IMO, all they really do is give you a louder intake sound and it makes you "feel/think" that they add power.

Others here may have a different view on CAI, and that's OK too. Mine is just one man's opinion.

They make the intake noise increase, so you may think you are gaining power. Do you want to buy one? I have one that I took off a 2005 C2S.

If its the red fabspeed tube, yes i have one.

I dont think it adds pawer but it did make the exhaust/engine sound a bit better.

Ok I got my Fabspeed CAI and BMC Filter. Installed it on my stock 997S. And it has made a difference already just taking it for 15 miles. I know it usually takes 100 miles or so to loosen up but my 997S is breathing ALOT better in all gears which was one of my gripes w the S. It didnt seem to have good throttle response and breathe to good. And the sound is sweet and I havnt WOT it yet either. I dont know if it added HP or what but it did change the way the car feels for the better. So Im happy w this setup. Just a quick reviews for you guys.

Why not just disconnect the little brown-orange plug that allows sports mode? Doesn't that do the same thing as the FabSpeed cold air bypass?

If I install fabspeed bypass pipe with that cold air kit, it would sound too loud, right?
I already ordered fabspeed bypass pipe and still wondering about this cold air kit.
I'm not sure how much the bypass pipe would sound.
What would be the result with all of that?

I would assume deleting that helz hold resonator thing would help w the sound. The car doesnt sound like a exhaust or anything, I havnt tried it WOT yet either but I went thru a drive thru and heard it when i was taking off slowly and it sounded baby PSE like.

As for the by pass pipes, I had them on my 996 for awhile but got rid of them after awhile they are too loud and get to you. I used to have ppl in the car and trying to talk while on the hwy and all you hear is AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH constantly. But they are cool to try and hey you might dig them and keep them on.
