When I was shopping for an SLK55, the dealer had no allocations, and I was waffling on going elsewhere or just ordering a 350. The dealer called to say that one of their customers was backing out of the 55 deal due to hip surgery as he could not comfortably sit in the seats.

I wondered about that, as it sounded like a sales pitch ("you just got here in the nick of time, as one of the spots just opened up"). Same thing happened at the Porsche dealership when I was waffling about a C4S cab or going elsewhere where an allocation may be available in the time frame I was looking for. Either my timing is fantastic or I am a total rube.

Out of curiosity, do you have a stick or the tip/pdk? Was wondering how the clutch would work with a hip replacement?

You might want to contact Oregon Aero: http://www.oregonaero.com/products.htm

They can make anything you need for the correct support.

Not really helpful in terms of solutions here.
Indeed, I had a good reason to ask the question. But I am unsure of his intent with the last comment of Doctor.
