Default 08 Cayman S Loaner

Having a ton of fun with the Cayman. Loud (Tubi) and go cart-like. Very playful and forgiving. Two trunks a nice feature...two sets of golf-stand (carry) bags in the rear...what a concept.

If you dropped in from another planet and didn't know about the 911 one would be very happy with the Cayman. Engine more free-revving at higher RPM's..definitely felt the missing 50hp. Mid-engine handling dynamics are noticeable right away. Exhaust resonance at speed but overall tuned to please the ear. Ride less compliant at times. Steering a bit overboosted and spongier brakes. First experience with sports chrono and glad I didn't get it.

Props to Porsche of Tysons for the loaner. Not selling the C2S anytime soon but will now have a gleam in my eye whenever I see a Cayman S...a very fine ride.

I had a Cayman S loaner a week ago while the Cayenne was in the shop. We put about 200 miles on it in 2 days. What I missed about my C4S while test driving this loaner was....... PSE , SSK , AWD , The ride, The backseats for the 2 small dogs, the visability, and my standard seats (the cayman had sport seats and I didnt like em in a DD). Cayman is a very nice car but when you drive it back to back with a 997 the choice is really obvious.

Thanks for sharing.

And to think some people say that the Boxsters/Caymans "aren't real Porsche's".
I've loved every minute of the time i've been behind the wheels of these cars.

I really like them. It's too bad they don't make a Cayman RS with 385hp.

I probably would have gone with it instead of the 911 <ducks>

True. Not a good spend though IMO. If I had more money than sense - I'd be all over that.

I also have had one as a loaner, but it is impossible to get my golf bag in the car, let alone two. This is a picture of everyting that will fit in a 911.

lol... how do you get a staff bag in the 911? I'm worried about my interior with a carry bag in the back.

I agree with 'lig'. I want to see a pic with all that stuff in the 911. I would love to know how you get all that in!. I may actually buy a staff bag!

I suspect the front passenger seat area was used for storage.

Got a Speed Yellow S as a loaner. Liked it a lot. Did not like the slush drive non S that I got once, not at all. Wifey hated it even more when I had her drive it to autocross while I took the C2S.

The new S with 320 hp, DFI, new oil sump and LSD should be fun on a small track.

I put my bag/clubs in the front passenger seat of my 911.
