this is what performance cars and racing is all about folks...building a car to beat, or sidestep legislation (or in F1 for example..the rulebook... the "formula" if you will). Porsche engineers, like most other car companies (well..ok maybe not Chrysler), have R&D teams who do nothing but find ways to extract X performance with Y restrictions in place.
The 911's day will eventually draw to an end, but no so long as i'm alive! Bring on the 998/991...we still have corvettes and skylines to beat up on!

Of course. Current 911 sales are still a whole lot better than during Porsche's darkest days.

We are bailing out the auto industry because the cars that the government mandated they build do not sell and now the companies are bankrupt.
Congress' answer it to give them a whole bunch of our money and then demands that they build even more of those cars that the public does not want.
Bravo! And there are calls for nationalization of our banking industry, too?
