Nails in tires
I was replacing my road tires with the track tires when I noticed both of the rear tires had nails. South texas roads are infamous for windshield chips and nails. The funny thing is that neither tire was losing air. I guess I need to make an appointment with Discount tire and get them plugged.

same thing happened to me when I was switching my road tires to my track setup. There was a nail in one of the tire. I pulled it out, sprayed some water on the hole, but found no air leak. I called the tire shop and they said as long as there is no air leak, then don't even bother taking the tire in as they will not do anything about it.

Leave em in and most likely they will be pushed in enough (eventually) to cause you trouble.

The funny thing is that my daily driver, a Honda Accord, is driven in all kinds of roads and ten times more frequently than the Porches. I have yet to pick up a single nail. The 997 on the other hand has even received side punctures. Let's see, in the last year I can count 4 nails and 1 side wall puncture. Before I forget, my track tire also had a nail and has a plug. Of course, all of these occurrences are to the rear tires only. The 996 on the other hand, which I have had for 6 years, without a single puncture, figure that one out.

I'm not an expert, but my very experienced wheel and tire guys will patch a nail hole with a patch inside the tire, not a plug (if it's fixable to be safe). I would inquire more before you have someone shoot a plug in.
