Anyone familiar with the Billy Boat exhaust systems for the 997?
Interested in performance and sound.
I would love to do the Tubi, but the BB is about half. Tempting.
Thanks

I dont know about performance but I have a tubi exhaust and love it. The sound is intoxicating. I paid about 1900 on a group buy....hit search and possibly get the same deal from the company in Miami. Times are tough and every body needs sales.

Off hand I recall some past negative comments about BB, but its probably years ago. Search the 996 and 997 forums and I think you will find some info.

They have somewhat of a negative reputation with the 986 crowd because they allegedly did not make hp and sometimes even caused a car to lose hp. I don't know how true this is. I have a B&B on my 986 and love it. All B&Bs are fairly loud and boomy, which I like, but some others do not. Have had the exhaust for probably 6 or 7 years and all of the wields have held up great. I am pleased.

I have the BB in my 996. It took some getting used to; in fact, at the beginning I switched back to stock. When I purchased my 997S with the PSE I switched it back. In relation to performance it does absolutely nothing, or if it does it's not noticeable. I haven't heard the Tubi, but people that have them swear by them. From my experience, owning the BB, go for the Tubi.

I believe you also have to factor in that B&B is usually on the lower end of the price spectrum for P exhausts. Tubi sounds amazing but one would certainly expect for it to due to the price that Tubi charges.

B&B is not well made from the internal guts of the mufflers I've seen. I used Fabspeed mufflers for 3 years and over 30 hard core track days without any issues what so ever. I higly recomend the Fabspeed mufflers for quality and sound. They sound more like a cup car wail at over 5k rpm than anything I've heard in person.

It was nice, but too loud. My next BMW was a
2004 M3 and I put on a Borla, and I've been sold on Borla
ever since. I have a Borla on my 2004 Tahoe and just got the Borla headers
and exhaust on my C2S. I'll be posting sound clips on the
Borla later today.
