Choosing between a 997 and a 993

Having owned several 911s over the decades I have to say that the 997 is an outstanding car. I wouldn't go back to an air/oil cooled engine for anything. Having heat on demand,--what a concept!
Guys,--there is no going back. Certainly there will be some numbing down of that visceral experience when presented with a suspension capable of what the 997 provides, but it handles like a race car without loosening your older amalgams...

If not a daily driver, go for the 993.
You can always buy a new 911, but like prime real estate, they ain't makin' anymore 993's.
Get a great real nice one and treat her right!
P.S. Rennlist member "Cab & Coupe" has a friend who was looking to sell his 18K mile garage queen 993. There is a thread on the 993 board if you're interested.

Old school rules, get the 993!
I use mine as a daily driver in good weather and my Cayenne S in bad weather, Winter and when hauling / towing (can't beat this combonation).
P.S.: I love the 997s too.

I have both.
993 is too slow to accelerate compered to the 997.
What year is the 993? 96-98 are plague with the CEL cause of the SAI / Valve Sleves wearing-leaking. Though the CEL/SAI does not affect performance, it annoyed the heck out of me.
Id go for the 997S hands down.
