Default All the Raving about 4WD !!

After reading for some time about all the ravings of the Carrera 4 and 4S Rennlisters I decided it was time to treat myself to a Christmas gift and so I thought, let's do something about this.

So, I tossed a transaxle up front and gave it a drive. Wow. What a performer! The handling is incredible. It seems so much tighter now up front.

And just to fly through those pesky CHP chain inspections on the summits I did a minor adulteration on the rear decklid and can just keep going,--no stopping for chains! i just point to the rear of the car!

Why I didn't do this years ago is beyond me!

(P.S. -- it's really a new transxle for my VW Vanagon--just hauling it home).

Did you install the tranaxle yourself? It looks pretty complicated. ...

Happy Holidays pal!
BTW, the little project you asked me to do is going to have to wait for a thaw.

No sweat, Dave. In the meantime, I have plenty to do around here!

I think it took me all of 2 minutes to toss that tranny in there... :-)

Don't you need to reflash the ECU or something?

It was the easiest mod I've ever made to this car. I may do a major write-up on it for the guys at Sixspeed Online...

Nope, I’m gonna stay away from it. Probably voids the warranty.

The manufacturer of the kit states that it will be "transparent" to the dealer and will in no way void your warranty. Right Dan?

Absolutely! Now, if I can find a little bit of carbon fiber to dress it up...
