Are the ruff wheels heavier than the stock OEM 997S and what are they made of?
I love the look, especially the Rinnspeed ones but they only come in 20".

That in one excellent looking 997. Love the old school 993ish flavor.

As for towels - a high quality waffle weave drying towel is the way to go IMO.

Having a black car makes me picky about that sort of thing.

I actually bought some ShamWows, after a drunken stupor of watching the infomercials I gotta say, they actually work pretty darn good however, no way in HELLL that that part where the guy soaks soda through the carpet is real...pur camera magic I actually primarily use the leaf blower method myself, followed-up with a synthetic chamois from Target. Works like a charm, even on a dark car.

I too use the electric leaf blower followed by thoroughly broken-in 100% domestic white cotton towels. The neighbors think I'm a bit strange anyway.

Cool

Mickfluff,

Ive been using Absorber too. Its cheap. BUT its actually a copy of the original "Kenebo" from Japan (which is now called AION PLAS CHAMOIS). I bet if you could find a source for it, its a lot better.

Tim/Gotta911,

IMHO, sorry but I would not use a leaf blower cause it will stir a lot of grainy dusts around the car.l These tiny particles will be like grit on sand paper when wiping dry the car. That is why I dont like washing the car on a windy day.

I hear ya however, been using a leaf blower weely for a year and never had any issues you're always blowing from top down, so no issue with stirring anything up plus, I dry in my driveway, not in a dirt lot ha

Use a rinseless car wash, like ONR. This significantly cuts down on the amount of water used and largely avoids the need for high absorbancy towels - a simple microfiber will do. I can wash my car in my garage in about 10 minutes with 2 gallons of water.

Mike, yes, that is always a possibility. However, like Cole said, drying from the top down. Plus, I figure that my car would get more "sand balsting" when driving at speed on the highway than in my driveway.

I figure the less I have to touch the painted surface, the fewer swirl marks I leave in the paint.
