I take it that seat removal is required?

 

please excuse my ignorance ...is that good? bad?? high??? ugly???? ...or just plain rip-off?

I simply ordered one for my car from Porsche and it seems to have been a lot cheaper,--with the extinguisher tossed in.

 

You will need to remove the 4 mounting bolts and tip the seat back to install this or any fire extinguisher mount that travels with the seat.

 

That is not so bad. Some require total removal of the seat from the car.

It's basically the same game. Once the 4 bolts are out the seat is offically removed.

 

I first thought it attached to the passengers seat. Does anyone know of one that does?

 

I don’t believe that you will find any of them that attach to the passenger side seat. There are control boxes mounted to the seat base that makes it impossible to mount anything to it. I'm sure you will find one that mounts to the seat rail but they will not move with the seat.

 

I've got the Brey-Krause Fire Extinguisher Mount (R 2035) and even though I mounted it on the driver's seat they claim it can also be mounted on the passenger set as well.

 

There web site says "drivers side only"

 

This is what I found:

"For Power seats, it will work on both driver & passenger. On cars with manual seats, it will only work on the driver's side."

 

Where did you see that?
