Default Sport Bucket Seats comfort

I'm sure that the Sport Bucket Seats are comfortable and may fit very well. But one thing is short term use - track, short runs, etc. - another is long road trips (many hours). The standard 911 seats are very comfortable for long road trips. Will the harder Sport Bucket Seats be also comfortable in those conditions or will be felt as hard and cushion-less. I'm looking for feedback from members with real experience in long road trips.

Adias- I'll ask my client whom uses his car to travel 60+ miles a day X 6 days a week. He's had it for about a month now....

My personal findings., The sport seats in my GT3 are far more comfortable on 3-4 hour(or more) drives than the stock seats in our Boxster. My lower back gets tight in the Boxster after a couple hours.
I do not know if the standard Boxster seats are the same as a 911's? I would like to know the answer though. I am specing a 911 Cab myself.
Best of luck.

I'm pretty sure Adias is asking about the Sport Bucket Seats, not the Sport Seats, which are an entirely different thing altogether. I sat in the bucket seats for a few minutes and found them quite comfortable for that short exposure but I'd also be interested in hearing any reports from people who are living with them from day to day.

One thing's for sure, if you fit the bucket seats in your car you'll never be able to drive any of your fat friends around. Those seats are strictly for skinny folks. Even knowing that, I'm tempted to spec them on my next car.

Seats in the Boxster are the same as the standard ones in the Carrera. And the OP was referring to this seat.

Now that i think about it; Adias, How tall are you? Big frame, medium or small frame? Waist?

I'm 5'11" 190lbs w/ 34 waist. - They feel like heaven to me; but I've never driven longer then 45 minutes in one.

I am tall height weight proportionate and can not get my hips into the BUCKET seats. The Sport seats like the the picture of the GT3 are what I have in my 09 Carrera S and I fit really good in those.

Also remember the BUCKET seats do not have the ability to move up and down or the back rest to be adjusted. They only move forward and back.

Porsceh really blew it with the BUCKET seats.

I'm very broad of beam (5'10", 245, 52" coat, 38" pants) and I fit fine when I sat in a GT2. That said, I am not qualified to comment on long-drive comfort. Personally, I plan on ordering them for my next 911.

My bad, wrong sport seats.
I would think the sport buckets do not allow recline adjustments, which would get confining to me on a long trip.

Me too, and I haven't even sat in them. If I don't like them, I can sell them for more than their option cost and replace them with standard sport seats. They cost $6,800 to buy from Suncoast and only $3,200 to spec them on a new order. Aside from the hassle of possibly having to sell them, I can't see any reason not to order them.

I do fit in the seat comfortably. The issue is - how do I feel after a 600 mile road-trip stint (say 6 to 8 hours)? I feel fresh out of a standard seat.

As others pointed out I am referring to the Bucket seats. But you raised another issue. If one orders the non-bucket Sports Seats, they come with that hideous back plastic shell in Volcano Gray - unless one is willing to pay $1.6k for a leather cover - how bad can PAG be?

Whoever has the plastic clad sports seats how does that volcano gray surface wear with time, especially the area where people touch around the lever to rotate the back?
